Covenant Groups

Every year the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lima sponsors events for members and guests, in addition to the weekly Sunday services. The subjects of these meetings are established by members' vote, and each one is led by someone who is particularly interested in the subject matter. Groups' focus have included walking, book discussion, women's support group, philosopy studies, game night, volunteer work, pot luck dinner. etc. The Events we are sponsoring now include: "Read-a-Lots", "Women of Wonder", and "SNL". All members and their guests are welcome to attend these events.

Other Events

We also sponsor events such a musical evening, open mic, road trip, film, or presentation.

Every year, to fill church coffers, and to support our social justice causes, (Churches United Food Pantry), the fellowship hosts a fundraiser — Wine, Cheese, and Treasure. UU's and friends donate art, services, and events, for a silent auction, and the evening showcases music by talented UU musicians, accompanying wine, cheese, and conversation.

UU Sundays

Our congregation gathers at our fellowship house for services from 11:00 to 12:00 most Sunday mornings September through May.    schedule

Twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, Ms. Carla Thompson, and assistants, offer religious education classes for children, using UUA's Tapestry of Faith curriculum, 'Signs of Our Faith, Being UU Everyday'. RE classes are in our upstairs classroom and are at the same time as the (downstairs) adult Sunday Service.

Women of Wonder

Each month, Lima UU's Covenant Group for women, Women of Wonder, meets on the 2nd Saturday, from 10:30 am to noon. Everyone "checks in", freely expressing what's going on with them, with fellow UU's and trusted friends. Encouragement and support are the Keynote here. Should time remain, special topics are pursued, most recently, "Which Goddess can you most relate to?"

Each month, Lima UU's Covenant Group for Engaged Readers, The Read-a-Lots, meet on the 4th Wednesday, from 7:00 pm (6 pm if we share a meal) until 9:00 pm. Selections have included William Kent Krueger's Ordinary Grace, Egger's The Circle, Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and many more.

Another monthly event which Lima UU's treasure is Saturday Night Live. A UU member hosts an evening party at their home, and prepare a main dish, which members and friends supplement with their own choice dishes. This is an opportunity to get to know fellow UU's on a more personal level, to celebrate special occasions, and, talk, and talk!
